India unveils world’s cheapest tablet device

In a report from Pratap Chakravarty of Agence France-Presse, India just launched a tablet device labeled as the “computer for the masses." The "Aakash" (Sky) was unveiled at a $46 price point, making it the world's cheapest tablet computer. The device utilizes the Android 2.2 operating system and has an external 2GB storage card and two USB ports.
