Meanwhile, Efren “Bata” Reyes got an early boot in the 2011 World Pool Masters as he defeat by Darren Appleton of England, 8-5.
Reyes buried the red-3 on his break in the 13th rack, but lost his turn because only one ball got past the head string, making it a violation.
Darren Appleton said that he felt nervous playing Reyes in his home turf.
“At 57 years old, for Efren to still play at that level is amazing. Twenty years ago, I would never have won that match,” Appleton said.
“That’s the most nervous I’ve ever been in my life and at the start of the game, I didn’t feel comfortable,” he added.
