One of the first games in the PBA Commissioners Cup Finals was the game of the B-MEG Lliamados against the defending champion TNT last Monday at Araneta Coliseum.
During the first quarter of the game, B-MEG’s had a score of 25points while Talk ‘N Text had 14points. The early offense of Raffy Reavis and JC during the second quarter also makes a good output but this time the TNT began to find their rhythm with the help of their import Donnell Harvey but still they wasn’t able to catch-up with the performance of B-MEG Lliamados who ended the first half at official score of 48-40.
Larry Fonacier breaks the continuous lead of B-MEG by making a four point play on the second half so they tied up to 56-all and they continue until the end of the third quarter and makes a five point lead against the B-MEG Lliamados.
The Lliamado’s was able to get rid of that five point lead during the last quarter of the game. They scored another seven during the early period of the last quarter. Because of Jimmy Alapag’s performance helps the TNT to catch-up with the Lliamado’s but on the remaining seconds of the game the TNT tries to have a quick three for them to have a chance to make an overtime but unluckily it did not connect resulting to a score of 86-82. Yap’s free throws make their score to 87 points. The B-MEG won on game one with an official score of 87-82.
Quarter scoring: 25-14, 48-40, 62-67, 88-82
